45 Monarchs collected during the entire afternoon in a private naturalized habitat area. Hackberry and silver Maple trees provided the support and Jerusalem Artichoke (Helianthus) the bulk of the nectar). The Southwest wind off the lake was holding them back temporarily. Near sunset, some had already headed westward along the bluff of Pigeon Bay (Lake Erie). Just last week there would be three to five only in this spot.
