Here in Duluth, MN I define my monarch season as the first day I find eggs to the last day I find eggs. This year my season began early (as is true for most of you). First eggs were on 5/13/12 (in other years first eggs were found from 5/22-6/5). Last eggs were found 8/13/12 (other years last eggs were found 8/15-9/9). So this year began earlier than ever for me and ended earlier than ever for me. The early end surprised me because overall conditions were very good. Since I found my last egg, high temperatures have been 70's and 80's and milkweed has been in good condition.
