Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/02/2012

Number: 1

I gathered over 25 monarch caterpillars from field of milkweed near my home. They are now safe in a butterfly cage munching away on the stalks of milkweed I put in milk containers filled with water.

I found about 20 more caterpillars and the MOST exciting aspect of the day was the beautiful green chrylasis I found hanging from one of the milkweed plants. It is the 1st one I have found in its natural habitat.
