Looking back at my journal, we have had four to five ruby throated hummingbirds since 6/21 (the first day of summer). Since 8/19 three males have been ruling our 9 backyard feeders. They are chasing away the females, other males and any young ones who come to feed. The heavy rains Labor Day weekend have not altered the daily visits or behavior of the three males.
