Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/05/2012

Number: 1

The past two weeks, many hummingbirds have been fueling-up at my nectar feeders for their journey south. Just before noon today, I observed an adult Monarch Butterfly. The Monarch was browsing through my numerous, spectacularly colorful Morning Glory blooms and the blooms on the many potted plants throughout my garden. Central Kansas has been experiencing several days of hot, sunny weather with temps daily at or above 100 degrees and the last two nights brief passing thunderstorms left us the "gift" of a total half inch of much-needed rain. Tomorrow's forecast is for cooler, more fall-like weather and the possibility of more rain. Life is good.
