Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/06/2012

Number: 1

I thought it was too early for the migration, but obviously is going on. For the past several days, have seen literally flocks of 10+ hummers around and on feeders. I have 2 1qt feeders, which they are draining daily. Not sure of the species. Last Sat., decided to try again to hand-feed from feeder, and some repeatedly landed on feeder in my hand. Will upload a better photo if can get. This one outside kitchen window, and if you can see, they are also going after something on the top, probably ants. Fascinating, and seem to be more frenzied than usual this year.
