Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/06/2012

Number: 12

We have two feeders - one in the backyard and one in the front yard - in a rural area one hour north of Austin, Texas. Each year the hummingbirds feed from our feeders and from the Desert Willow blooms. We garden extensively and there are many other blooms for them to feed from because it is so hot and there is plenty of water as well for them here on this land.

I have been able to distinguish two different types of hummingbirds. I haven't looked before this year to see if I can identify their gender or markings beyond the iridescent green.

My email address was spammed yesterday and I will be changing it this weekend.
