8 30 a.m. Weather 77,cloudy, wind calm But it rained heavily within 20 minutes. One lone monarch flapping in a strong and steady mode, flying over a commercial shopping centers area with a heavily trafficked 8 lane highway. steadily flapping over the traffic at a rather altitude. Maybe it needed more wind to take it higher? The wind was dead still. Looked like she was flying in a direct southernly direction compared to my compass. not many nectar source in sight but outside of this shopping area folks do have flowers planted and there are weedy curbside wild flowers.
