Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/06/2012

Number: 2

A male and a female, both nectaring on milkweed. The female laid several eggs and the male sparred with honey bees. Several wasps have been patrolling the garden to prey on insect eggs and larvae. Wasps usually leave before the monarch migration ends; this allows eggs to hatch and caterpilars to thrive.
