Just refilled my large feeder today. It was almost empty and one of the females came and perched on the finch feeder I have by the window and chittered at me. She must be one of our regulars, as this is what they do to remind me. I can even tell when it's a regular returning in the spring, because they come and perch by my window and let me know if I don't have a feeder out.
