We have some type of milkweed plant that my husband ordered by mistake this Spring. For years we have had fields of the common milkweed plant, but very little activity. I was SHOCKED when I noticed, just by chance, a caterpillar on my plants while deadheading our Butterfly Bush. I have a total of 5 now. I am so excited! I have NEVER seen larva and have seen very few mature Monarchs; only in the Fall, never in the Spring.
