Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/06/2012

Number: 5

The numbers are down a bit (4 to 6 birds instead of 7 to 12) but there's still a lot of fuss and feathers zipping amongst the 6 feeders in our yard. It appears most of our visitors are juveniles but there are possibly one or two adult females who also visit. It's been difficult to get a really close look at them this season. No adult males have been seen for almost two weeks. Two males visited each afternoon toward the end of August and then were gone, leaving the kids to put on their daily shows of zipping, chirping and dive bombing. Hope to have them for another week or two before the air stills and all that's left are visitor-less feeders.
