Usually I hear the hummingbirds and don't see them. As soon as I turn my head they are gone. Today I was in the garden cutting zinnias and caught a glimpse of a hummingbird on one of the zinnia plants. I froze and was able to enjoy many minutes of observing him flit from one flower to another. I was surprised to see him lite on a flower and stay there for a bit before going back to feeding as I've never observed that before. There is a butterfly bush right next to all the zinnias, but he never stopped there.
