Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/09/2012

Number: 4

42 degrees this morning, resident "kids" arrive for breakfast at 7:02. They grew up in the East side habitat, in the tall white pine trees. There are 10 feeders scattered along the perimeter of this area; and a banquet of hummingbird flowers--mass plantings of Pink Turtleheads, Pink Lantana, Butterfly bushes, Hardy Prennial Fischia, Petunias, Snapdragons, Dicentria Scandens, Phlox, and Black and Blue Salvia. In the 18 years that we have been hosting hummingbirds, here, our residents have all left by September 8th. We are pleased the "kids" decided to stay for another day. It will be interesting to note their departure date.
