Today and for the past few days we've seen three hummers frequenting the feeders. One appears to be an adult female, well-fed, well-feathered and beautifully colored. She regularly stakes out a spot and chases the other two hums away, as though six feeders could not possibly meet the needs of three hums! They are the first thing we look for in the morning. Around my house any day that starts with "Hummer at the feeder!" is well begun.
