Carter Hill Observatory Hawk Watch
Puddles of blue slowly leaked through the overcast, isolating cloudy peninsulas into isles. The afternoon brought a shift from headwind to tailwind for navigating raptors and insects. Distant windmills stood watch, vanishing periodically like stoic phantoms with shifts in lighting and haze.
74 Monarchs filled in the gaps between raptors.
