We have mostly females at this time; black-chinned and rufous. I saw 3 male Black-chinned hummingbirds, and heard 1 male Broad tail (they have a very loud, distinctive wing beat that is unmistakable). Am am now putting out about 4 cups of feeder nectar per day. The weather is getting distinctively cooler and I expect our numbers will soon drop significantly. Typically I will see female hummingbirds all the way through October; I've seen one as late as November 4th.
