I have 16 monarch caterpillars that I rescued from a field before it was mowed! They were in a patch of milkweed in the field. I am going to raise them and monitor their growth and chrysalides and then tag them for the Monarch Watch Project. This summer I raised and released (in mid-August) 15 monarch caterpillars and tagged them! This has certainly been a big year for monarchs in DownEast Maine!
