Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/10/2012

Number: 2

It has been a slow year for monarch butterfly activity here in Madison, Wisconsin. We had few visitors, few eggs, and few caterpillars. Drought conditions dominated our weather for much of the spring and summer. I was out in the yard cleaning up our compost pile on Monday, and several adult monarchs flew into the yard and landed on new england asters that are in full bloom right now.
