Little Round Top Migration Observatory Hawk Watch
The king of the day was the Monarch Butterfly, migrating in such vast
numbers that it was often difficult to distinguish a distant potential
Raptor from a Monarch at first glance, and more than once I was pulled off
a bird thinking there was another, only for it to quickly show itself for
what it was. I counted 540 in the first few hours... and the density of
occurrence was such that I estimate well over a thousand went by the site.
