This week we counted 93 eagles all together; twice what we saw last week. There were 71 on the Chilkoot River and 22 on the Chilkat River. Also this week, the juvenile eagles are fledging and leaving their nests for the first time. About half of the juveniles fledged today. There are lots and lots of salmon in the rivers on both sides of our peninsula - pink, coho, chum and even some sockeye are still coming.
