A juvenile male came to the feeder at sundown, 7:42pm. He doesn't need to fight off the hornets any longer, so he stayed for a long drink, about 2 minutes. I am sure this is same young male I've been seeing for days now, as he has a thin dark band the right of his neck just above the wing and small dark spot center of his chest. The band as gotten a bit larger since watching him. He's back now, getting another drink for night takes over. Weather turning colder, strong wind out of the west all day. Tonight is forecast for the low 40's and frost come friday morning.
