Afternoon, 90 degrees and windy--more migrants than we have ever had this time of the year. Very hungry, enjoying lavender butterfly bushes, orange lantana, agastache salmon and pink, black and blue salvia, and petunias. One took time to interact and came within 3 inches of me, and played for a few minutes in the garden hose spray as I was watering flowers in their habitat.. We are thrilled to host so many migrants late in the season. Several guests on the high south hill--I placed an oorange plastic toboggan on the ground in this area as a 'fall hummingbird beacon' perhaps this accounts for the increased visitation. May God bless and watch over our small winged wonders.
