Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/12/2012

Number: 1

We've left out our very first hummingbird feeder after reading that some hummers stay later in the season before migrating.
After about a week and a half of no sightings (after a huge week-long flurry of hummingbird activity), my roommate reported seeing a lone hummer at the feeder - yesterday afternoon, around 3PM, September 12, 2012. Not sure of age, sex or type, but he was a bit smaller, white with emerald-green chest plumage. The feeder has been pretty much deserted after alot of crazy activity about two weeks ago. I'm sure this hummingbird came to our feeder because most of the other feeders in our condo complex have been brought in already.
I'm so glad I left our feeder out and was able to help this little guy....you never know when you'll have a straggler stop by needing some sustenance! :) I'm keeping a close eye out now for other late-comers (or goers, as it were!). I'm going to leave my feeder out for a while longer, just in case. :)
