Yesterday, 9/9, I encountered a flock of Monarchs flying straight south across a highway.
At about 1pm, under sunny skies a couple hours after a heavy rain, between mileposts 510 and 511 on Highway 64 east, I hit 4 Monarchs with my car - and I missed another dozen+. Before and after that time/place we saw occasional Monarchs, but they were greatly outnumbered by swallowtails and Cloudless Sulphurs.
