Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/11/2012

Number: 50

Finally seeing monarchs. We have not quite 15 acres in Central Texas, and while on an early evening walk (6:30 or so) through our wooded acerage we spotted many monarch butterflies. They were happily feeding on Bush Sunflower (Simsia calva), which is in ample supply on our property.

I will try to get some pictures for you this weekend. We have had many Queen butterflies this year, because we planted Blue-Mistflower (Eupatorium coelestinum). The Queen's just love it.
