Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/11/2012

Number: 3

I have access to a very large flower field with a 200 foot long hedgerow of Butterfly Bush, and approx 1000 Feet of Zinnia's. As well as several hundred feet of other assorted flowers. The Monarchs, Swallowtails and bees are in heaven. This is a stream valley that hawks and other birds migrate over/through, I suspect These 3 MOnarchs are passing through or moved in last week for the nectar nirvana..Obviously I cant tell if these are the same or if others pass through feeding on the nectar surplus. I have Hawk watchers reporting seeing swarms of monarchs passing over this valley, so I would not be surprised if some stop here during bad weather or feeding needs. Tom
