Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/01/2012

Number: 6

Sorry for the tardy report,

September 1, 2012: Saw six adult Monarchs while paddling on the Colorado river east of Austin near the town of Utley. All were flying SSW 3-15 feet off the ground. At least one was in poor condition with very faded coloration while the others either had deep color or were
too far away to tell much about color. All were too far to tell sex.
Although there were several species of flowers blooming, none were nectaring. Sightings took place between 10am and 3pm.

I have seen singlton Monarchs every day or two since (9/11).
