My wife and I observed only 5 today in a six hour time span. We are experiencing cooler morning temperatures at 53 degrees, so the Monarchs need to mid morning to warm up before flying onward. We noticed these by accident as they were at tree top level decending to about 10-15 feet above ground in search of food.
