Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/14/2012

Number: 4

3 females and a juvenile. I had a long day with 2 hummers trapped in my garage all day today. I left the door open, hoping they would fly out. I hung a feeder from garage door opening, one finally flew out. The juvie would go feed, but fly back in, up to the ceiling (which is painted blue), then sit on a top cabinet. Finally at 5 pm my husband closed the door and was able to pick her up. He brought her inside and I said omg give that baby to me! I took her outside in my hand, and she was very pooped out, limp, and not moving. I offered her some sugar water, she took one sip, revived and flew to the nearby tree branch. I think I will see her again tomorrow, as she looked too weak to fly away. I am obsessed with my hummers; my husband tolerates my constant attention and photographing of these darlings. Bless him, he was a good "daddy" today!
