39 degrees this morning, breakfast at feeders begins at 7:07 AM. On cold mornings, feeders are always washed and filled with nectar that is room temperature--small winged wonders seem to appreciate the kind gesture as they stay a little longer at the feeders. The two guests who are friends, comtinue to perch and fly closely, sometimes in unison, together. Numerous mass plantings in bloom that are being visited: Pink Turtleheads, Pink Lantana, Black and Blue Salvia, Petunias, Geraniums, Impatients--one plant of Wendy's Wish salvia, butterfly bushes, Dicentra Scandens, and annual Larkspur. In all the years we have been hosting a hummingbird habitat, we have not had this many visitors after September 9th. We are honored, to be blessed with their small, wondrous presence.
