Along South Shoreline land outcropping areas of Staten Island, are fields on protected hills with trail that extends to waterline, in Staten Island. I have had some of my college students that live in area checking for telltale increase in Mon. numbers. Slow increase of number of flying pairs seen here since 2nd. week of August. Informed that student counted almost 60 in 2 hrs., on 9/14. Spent 3 hrs. on 9/16 by milkweed concentrations and only spotted approx. 32-40. Temp. dropping to avg. 66-76 F from last week's 78-88 F, Thanks.
