Favourable wind conditions today to see lots of Monarchs funneling along the lake . Approximately 15 per minute moving overhead. This flow was consistent all day from 10:30 AM until dusk. I estimate that several thousand Monarchs moved through Clearville Park today on their journey to Pt Pelee where they cross Lake Erie to the USA.

Editor's Note: We estimated the daily count based on the observer's description as follows: Fifteen monarchs per minute would be about 900 per hour. Assuming the flight occurred consistently for 7 hours, the 6,300 total was reached.
