Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/17/2012

Number: 23

We have released 23 monarchs that we found on milkweed around town and we raised them in our classroom. Two of the caterpillars died and two chrysalises died too. Most of the monarchs flew in circles and then landed in a tall tree. One of them took off and fell on another student. One hatched and flew around the room. One crawled on someone's face. One flew into another student's mouth. One landed in someone's hair. Some on them flew onto a shed and some of them flew onto milkweed. One landed on a car. One dropped liquid from its wings.
