Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/18/2012

Number: 8

Guests start their day 7:07 AM, the two inseparable hummingbird friends are still here, as is the 'Smallest one we have ever seen' All guests have white tips on their tails, so we think everyone is female. All feeders on shepherd hooks have small tree branches attached (approx 5-6 feet tall) these are attached via florist wire to the pole part of the hook. Guests enjoy these branches, and preen and rest next to 'their' feeder, and hummingbird container pot. Hummingbird container pots hold various combinations--Black and Blue Salvia, Pink or Orange Lantana, Impatients, Petunias, Bfly bushes. We have never had this many hummingbirds on September 18th. We are honored to be on their Mid-West-bed & breakfast-way-station-route for their Journey South.
