Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/18/2012

Number: 1

Still have hummingbirds visiting my nectar feeders. Over-night our temp dropped to 44 degrees... briefly. I figured all my hummingbirds would be hitting the nectar feeders hard early today, before heading on south. Not so. They are still here this evening! Last year I had hummingbirds visiting my feeders until mid-October but they were few. Some of my hummers look like adult male Ruby's and adult male Black Chins. They are noticeably smaller than the girls and they spend a lot of time sparring with each other over the nectar feeders. I have also seen juveniles at the feeders. The juveniles are more skittish, giving way to the adults.
