Chilly this morning, 31 degrees--our guests started their day at 7:07 AM. The first arrival was in the Black and Blue Salvia and Pink Lantana in the East habitat.
Our early bird had a great deal to tell me; obviously she likes to talk about the cold weather. All feeders were washed and filled with WARM nectar (room temperature) by 7 AM. Warm nectar is appreciated, and popular on chilly mornings-- our tiny guests stake out a feeder and perch and preen on their respective feeder/branches. This is the first year we have had so many guests on September 19th. We will continue to serve nectar for at least 2 weeks after the last Winged Wonder departs.
