Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 09/18/2012

Number: 20

About 20 Monarch's sited at Camino Real Park in Ventura. Hanging out in the eucalyptus groves along the barranca. Plenty of fruit trees and natural flowers for nectar. I also see them flying around the city of Ventura daily now. I had two adults lay eggs three weeks ago and I have 22 caterpillars now. They are hugh. I plan to release them at the park when they hatch from the chrysalis. The ones I have seen look healthy and big.

These are the first to arrive. There haven't been that many Monarch's at the park for the past few months. Even though I have been raising them for the past 6 months. I still have 11 large pillars that are eating like mad. I am at the park walking my dog twice a day and see them flying around the eucalyptus trees where they like to winter.
