I was releasing a monarch I'd raised. We'd had rain for a day and 1/2 and the sun finally came out. Winds were out of the north.
As I released my monarch I watched it take flight and was amazed to see a migrating monarch, higher above the one I released, riding the thermals. It was truly a sight to see. Here and gone in an instant!
Still not seeing a 'peak' here. I see one or two each day but not the usual steady flow for mid-September. :(
