I have been seeing a few Monarchs every week but they stay a very short time.
However, my husband found a black swallowtail butterfly caterpillar on our roof when he was there painting last Monday, 9/17. I brought it inside, put it into a screen house for it and within less than 48 hours it is in a chrysalis. Very oddly shaped but just like the picture on the computer. It will be wonderful to see it come forth in a few weeks. How fortunate that we were able to rescue the caterpillar before a predator ate it.
