Four female hummers have feed all week at two feeders and the following flowers: blue-black salvia, purple rose of sharon, clematis, red honeysuckle, orange honeysuckle, and white lantana. We think the small male that has been here this season is still around fighting with the females, but has not been seen at the nearby feeders and flowers so it is difficult to confirm his markings. We noted that last year the hummers departed our Aurora, Ohio feeders on September 7, 2011. We wonder if this trend has been seen by others.
