We have observed about 50 Monarchs passing by this week. Today on 9/21/12 we were watching buzzards and black vultures along with several hawks soaring in the thermals above. We noticed several Monarchs at about 150 feet gathering hight in the thermals. We were using 10 power binoculars when they just appeared in view. We have noticed more of them going above us.
