I'm heartbroken this year as this is the first year I have not had groups of Monarchs arriving to roost. I blame the heat and drought we have experienced this summer. I was excited as we had a very warm spring. I raised and released many Monarchs however I never had any eggs layed in August, this was a first for me. I do have plenty of milkweed plants in great shape as well as nectar rich flowers thanks to watering daily. This summer was very hard on the Monarchs here this year. I pray for more to move through, it is September 21 today.
