Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/21/2012

Number: 4

I have been feeding/watching Ruby Throated humming birds all summer season; one male, one female, two offspring. They typically arrive on Mother's Day, hovering near my window as if to say, "Get the sugar water out NOW!". I enjoy watching the mating rituals; mating swoop & spiral flight. I also enjoy watching the female teach her chicks how to find the sugar water and nectar from our wild flowers. The weather is chilly in the 60's. A young female allowed me to take her picture on the sugar water feeder.
