I continue to have fluctuating numbers of immature and female black-chinned hummingbirds at the two feeders. 2-3 is the usual number and may be migrating in or moving back and forth from other feeders in the area. Some days I have had only one immature bird. I'm not filling the feeders very full so that I can put in fresh food every couple of days, alternating feeders. I think I may try the idea of bringing the feeders in for the night and putting them out in the morning so that the food will be warmer. There was frost in some local areas the last two nights.
