The migration resumed today on the north shore of Lake Erie at Clearville Park after 4 days of wet, cloudy , windy and cool weather. I estimate about 1000 butterflies per hour moving overhead today starting at 10:00 AM at 2-6 times tree-top height. The migration today is not as strong as last weekend when I estimated about 1200 -1500 per hour moving through the park on Friday and Saturday. Today there are also numerous Monarchs at ground level moving along the Orford Bluffs 60 feet above the lake. All butterflies are heading in the direction of Pt Pelee - 80 KMs SW down the coast from here. Flight conditions perfect today, 65-70 F, partly sunny with a light north wind.
