Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/18/2012

Number: 1

At 7:37 am a hummingbird checks me out just after I take a photo of a small caterpillar which just shed its skin in my back yard. It was attempting to nectar on a coral honeysuckle vine nearby when both of us were startled by the appearance of the other! It was too fast for me to tell whether it was a juvenile or female; I thought I saw light barring down the throat but can't swear to it.
