I still have 3 ruby throats at my feeders. One female is very vigorous in her defense of 3 of my 4 feeders. The 4th feeder is behind the house. She sits in an althea and attacks when the others come to feed. They usually manage to get fed although it takes a battle and lots of aerobatics to get there. All appear to be females (no juvenile males). The weather is cool today--got down into the 50's last night and only 63 at nearly 11am...may go to the 40's tonight. Very dry here--wonder if low insect population has made it tough to gain weight. Will miss them when they go.
