Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 09/22/2012

Number: 1

We found the butterfly sleeping on top of the sand near the pier. After we were headed back from floundering walking up the beach we thought at first it was a moth. After closer inspection we could clearly see it was a majestic orange and black monarch butterfly! As I reached down to pick him up, he fluttered a little and flew away. Last weekend I saw two of them near the same area but thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.
