32 degrees, warm nectar is served and 7:48 AM a small migrating guest joins me in the East habitat for breakfast. I believe she arrived late yesterday afternoon in a cold rain, as I noticed her in the habitat after 5 PM yesterday. The East habitat is in a large clearing in the forest, on a high bank. It has 2 fall 'hummingbird beacons'--these consist of 8 foot tall tomato poles----one with a large RED plastic flag 15 x 22 inches, and the other with an orange paint bucket. BIG container of Black and Blue salvia, and several plants of Pink Lantana are in the ground, in this area. Black & Blue salvia was covered last night, using 8 foot ladders, and tomato poles with a bed sheet and clothes pins to make a teepee to protect the salvia from the frost. These efforts are being appreciated and enjoyed this morning by a very small, and precious guest. Projected high 62 degrees, winds SW 2O-30 MPH
